M1 Crab Nebula

The Crab Nebula  is a supernova remnant in the constellation of Taurus. In the center of the nebula lies a neutron star with a spin rate of 30.2 times per second. The supernova was recorded by Chinese astronomers in AD 1054.

Distance to earth: 6’500 lightyears
Apparent size: 6 arcminutes (0.2 x the moon)
